Data Management
Data management for industrial equipment
Set up a data model for each product once. Every unit you ship gets the same signals, rules, and history, organized by customer and site.
Real-time data processing for large fleets
Murano processes streaming data from millions of device based channel events in real time. Your team has mapped the signals, rules, and calculations in the asset configuration which may be templated for large product deployments. The pipeline handles the time series history storage, archiving, and realtime publshing for dashbaords automatically.
Asset data model and templates
Signals, transforms, and rules are configured in the asset builder.
Signals with types and units
Each signal is one piece of data from an asset, such as a temperature reading or a Modbus register, with a type, a unit, and history. Transforms and rules are attached to the signals they use.
Asset and customer hierarchy
Assets are organized by customer and site, and user access follows the same hierarchy.
Asset templates
Define the signals, transforms, and rules for a product model once and apply them to every unit. Template changes apply to all of them.
Replaceable signal sources
Replace a signal's source with another compatible channel, so hardware changes don't break dashboards or rules.
Data quality and normalization
Normalize and filter values
Transforms can filter, smooth noisy data, combine, and calculate new signals from existing ones.
Catch missing data and stuck sensors
An expected report rate per signal shows gaps in the data. Timeout and Repeating Value rules flag devices that stop reporting and sensors stuck on one value.
Keep accurate timestamps
Values keep the device's timestamp at millisecond resolution, so data buffered during an outage is stored at the time it was measured.
Rules engine with thresholds, hysteresis, and durations
Multiple levels
Set Warning and Critical thresholds in one rule. Statuses roll up to asset and subsystem status.
Hysteresis
Separate enter and exit offsets keep a value that hovers near a limit from flipping the status back and forth.
Duration
Trigger once, after a value holds for a set time, or after it repeats a number of times or within a time window.
Conditions
A status change opens a condition only if one isn't already open, so a signal that keeps crossing a limit produces one condition.
Other rule types match exact values such as fault codes, true and false states, and text in string signals.
Built-in functions or your own code
Use functions to derive the values that matter, such as pump efficiency, total runtime, or anomaly scores, with machine learning algorithms or your own logic. Each function runs on every new value, and its output is a new signal you can chart, alert on, or feed into AI models.
Built-in functions
Exosite's function library includes unit conversion, smoothing, and machine learning anomaly detection.

Live data
Dashboards show the current value of every signal and update as new values arrive.
Time-series database
Every value is stored in the included time-series database, so you don't need a separate historian. Retention is set per organization, and history can be turned off for signals that don't need it.
Data lake
Signal values, status changes, asset configuration, and hierarchy are archived as CSV and JSON files that can be synced to AWS S3, Azure Storage, or Google Cloud.
Data export and ownership
Your signal history, asset models, device registry, and hierarchy can be exported to your own BI, data science, and data warehouse tools.
