“Think of us as the invisible force identifying potential points of failure.”

Exosite’s QA team identifies potential points of failure in the process and the product while supporting Exosite projects by focusing on the total quality—from making sure team members have what they need to be successful, to asking if we remembered to add logging to the user management module, to iterative product testing, and then of course everything in between.

Background
In the beginning, quality was thought to be achieved by inspection of the final product. This idea controlled business for years, until Dr. W. Edwards Deming emerged on the quality scene with a remarkable idea—”continual improvement and working together with the aim for everybody to win.” Dr Deming laid out his Fourteen Points for the Transformation of Management and the Seven Deadly Diseases (of management) and with his understanding of statistical measures and human nature, he transformed Japanese industry after WWII with such measurable results that the entire world took notice. It wasn’t until NBC aired the documentary If Japan Can, Why Can’t We? on June 24, 1980 that Deming gained attention in America for the significant contribution to Japan's amazing business success. It was the turning point for the American quality movement.

Fast forward to 2016, the Exosite QA team is continuing Deming's quality philosophies by continuously improving the quality of Exosite's products and services. The QA team is creating new automated test frameworks and testing services to enhance Exosite's products and your IoT solutions running on our Murano platform. Together we can help ensure you get the highest quality and best value for your IoT solution, that is designed, built, and tested right the first time.

Keep an eye out for more information about Exosite's Quality offerings in future blog posts.

In the latest Forrester Report, Exosite was chosen as one of the 11 “most significant” IoT platform providers on the market. This was a well-earned pat on the back for all of our accomplishments in 2016, since big names like IBM, PTC, GE, and Microsoft are well-known players. We are honored to be included, especially when we are an under-200-employee company facing off against giants. But the small can be mighty.

Many successful bands or musical organizations rely on members working together well and harmonizing with their instruments. It is a similar concept when effectively implementing a company-wide IoT ecosystem in that people may specialize in different areas, but coordinating strategies together makes the system work well.

In order to build a company-wide IoT strategy, you want to create a process that plays into your company's strengths and functions as whole. In the creation stages, you want to make sure that every division is participating in the ways that they know best.

November 22, 2016

Devising a long-term enterprise IoT strategy is essential to implementing a successful IoT framework that spans across divisions, but how do you get divisions thinking about how IoT can be used within their area of expertise? Identifying how your entire organization can enter the IoT generation of business and inspiring different departments to join the bandwagon can be a lot of work. As an industrial IoT platform provider we are here to help you every step of the way.

Creating an IoT framework strong enough to support multiple divisions is key in implementing a company-wide IoT strategy. Last week we established the idea that industrial OEMs need to plan out their innovation so divisions can work together to develop a single, flexible IoT ecosystem for the entire organization.

This week in our Enterprise IoT Framework series, we’ll be covering the issues that come up when trends take over and plans fall by the wayside. As an industrial IoT platform provider, we know that jumping right in may be tempting and sometimes it takes far too long to take the plunge.
